Our take on Guard Duty
The simplified inventory and puzzle approach keeps the focus on story progression, but gives up the item-management complexity and obtuse puzzle-solving associated with some classic point-and-click adventures.
What is Guard Duty?
Guard Duty is a comedy adventure told across two time periods.
In the past, Tondbert, a castle guard, faces the aftermath of a princess’s kidnapping. A thousand years later, Agent Starborn joins a resistance effort on an orbital station. The story follows how the two characters’ fates connect. Both are playable, and choices shape events across the two eras. The game uses pixel art in a 320x240 resolution, with a point-and-click style. It includes fully voiced dialogue, more than 30 musical compositions, and a quest tracker for current objectives. Inventory and puzzles use a streamlined design, with logical puzzles and an interface that retains a classic adventure aesthetic.
