Our take on Grand Guilds
The card and deck systems add planning between and during battles, but they also make combat depend on managing a changing set of abilities rather than issuing direct commands alone. Partial voice acting likewise favors written narrative over fully performed dialogue.
What is Grand Guilds?
Grand Guilds follows Eliza and her guildmates as they investigate coordinated attacks across Irin, a continent nearing war.
Battles use turn-based tactics, with positioning, terrain, and action points shaping each encounter. Character abilities come from skill cards, and individual decks can be customized as characters gain levels or complete quests. Procedural guild missions provide rewards and contribute to the guild's reputation, which grants combat bonuses. Playable characters fill different squad roles, including tank, support, and damage dealer, with distinct mechanics and abilities. The campaign combines a mystery-focused narrative with travel through a magical setting. Heroes have short voice lines during combat and dialogue rather than full voice acting.

Grand Guilds compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines turn-based positioning with deck building, but Grand Guilds frames those systems within a story-driven RPG campaign, character roles, guild reputation, and procedural quests. Shogun Showdown instead centers on attack tiles, skill acquisition, and repeated rogue-like runs toward the Shogun.
