Our take on GORE
Progression is tied to investigation: examining the environment, finding notes, and triggering dialogue events opens new areas within the linear story.
What is GORE?
GORE is a Lovecraft-inspired psychological horror game set in a decaying wilderness modeled on the Rocky Mountains.
Players explore mountains, caves, and laboratories while carrying a flashlight and handheld camera. The story follows an incomprehensible fleshy entity spreading through the environment and unfolds through inner dialogue, scattered notes, and triggered dialogue events. Exploration opens new areas and advances a linear narrative built around tension, fear of the unknown, twists, and occasional jump scares. The experience uses VHS-like visual processing, realistic movement, custom mountain landscapes, an original soundtrack, and mutated entities. It contains two levels and lets players toggle the flashlight when navigating dark areas.
How GORE plays
- 01Exploration-Based Progression
- Finding notes and activating dialogue events opens additional parts of the environment.
- 02Handheld Camera

- 03Two Main Levels
- The playable areas include mountain terrain, caves, and laboratory spaces.
- 04Toggleable Flashlight
- A flashlight can be switched on for dark sections.
- 05VHS Visual Treatment
- Post-processing gives the footage a worn, analog appearance.
