The store page gives equal weight to the combat pitch and a detailed war narrative, but the playable structure centers on surviving endless waves with randomized upgrades. The synopsis supplies context for the setting, while the described mechanics point to repeated action-focused runs.
What is Gigantes Ex Machina?
Gigantes Ex Machina is a top-down rogue-lite mecha shooter set in a future shaped by wars between nations and megacorporations.
Players pilot the experimental Gigas mecha, evade incoming bullets and missiles with IRCM, and destroy enemies across the battlefield. Runs involve surviving endless enemy waves while using a randomized power-up leveling system. The story follows an arms race surrounding Gaia, an ancient weapon excavated beneath the earth, and a temporary alliance formed to resist its threat. The player character awakens as an experimental Anima pilot and enters the resulting conflict. Gunfire, explosions, and other sound effects accompany the combat.
