Our take on GHOUL
Rather than treating a contract theft as a contained caper, GHOUL turns Nil's job into a disturbing hotel mystery. The task remains in view even as the events around her become difficult to understand, shifting the focus from routine acquisition to investigation.
What is GHOUL?
GHOUL follows Nil, a professional thief who takes contracts to steal items for employers.
Her next job is to take a red pouch from a hotel outside town. After the theft, Nil experiences a traumatic and confusing situation, but remains intent on completing the task. Players help her steal the pouch and work out what is happening at the hotel. The game lists hide-and-seek, an in-game operating system, and artificial intelligence among its features. Its story centers on a theft job disrupted by strange events, rather than a straightforward account of contract work.
