Our take on GENIE
GENIE prioritizes atmosphere and narrated exploration over interaction, combat, and complex challenges. That focus creates a calm, compact journey, but leaves little room for players who expect varied mechanics or sustained gameplay across longer sessions.
What is GENIE?
GENIE is a short atmospheric exploration game following Lula as she searches for the meaning of the Genie and her destiny.
Players collect broken crystal shards scattered across each level. Once all shards are found, poem-spots appear in sequence. Standing on a spot requires locating and focusing on a nearby light source, which changes the camera view and begins the narration. Completing each passage reveals the next poem-spot.
The game contains 15 parts, each taking about 5–10 minutes, with progress saved at the beginning of each part. Its story is presented through poems and full voice narration, alongside fantasy environments set across varied eras, atmospheric music, and graphics made with Unreal Engine 5. Interaction is minimal, with the experience centered on mood and exploration.

- 04Varied fantasy eras
- The journey moves through natural environments presented across different eras.
