Our take on Gearbits
Rather than keeping a shooter’s movement grounded, Gearbits makes rocket flight central to combat. Elevation becomes both an attack route and a liability: overheating can force the robot back onto the battlefield, where it becomes easier to target.
What is Gearbits?
Gearbits is a third-person 3D action shooter focused on piloting giant robots in a far-future colony setting.
Rocket thrusters let the player fly across battlefields and attack from above, but overheating can leave the robot exposed on the ground. The single-player story campaign contains 20 missions with objectives involving enemy pilots and swarms of giant insects. Ten playable robots can be unlocked, each combining different strengths and weaknesses such as firepower or manoeuvrability. More than 30 weapons, including missile launchers, rail guns, and beam cannons, support varied loadouts. A wave survival mode adds escalating enemy groups, with credits earned from defeated enemies used to obtain weapons and equipment between waves.
