Our take on Front Defense: Heroes
The defining choice is V-locomotion: movement places the player’s avatar in a third-person, out-of-body view rather than keeping movement entirely in the first-person perspective.
What is Front Defense: Heroes?
Front Defense: Heroes is a World War II-themed VR shooter with solo and online multiplayer matches.
Players can fight AI bots or join teams of up to five against five human opponents. Combat uses 1940s-era weapons, including rifles, assault rifles, snipers, bazookas, grenades, and submachine guns. Modes include Free-For-All, Team Deathmatch, and Offense and Defense, where one side attacks a target while the other guards its base. Maps feature European streets, factories, and graveyards. The game offers V-locomotion, which places the avatar in a third-person viewpoint, and smooth locomotion through the settings menu. Real-time voice chat supports team communication. The game has been discontinued and is no longer maintained; its controllers may not work correctly with SteamVR 2. 0 or newer.

Front Defense: Heroes compared to similar games
Abyssus is also a multiplayer shooter, but it structures play as a roguelite adventure across handcrafted levels and features brine-powered weapons that can be refitted with ancient technologies. Front Defense: Heroes instead uses World War II-themed VR matches, including 5v5 team battles, AI play, and objective-based combat.
