Is FREERIDE worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Narrative adventure players who want choices to affect their experience
- Players interested in personality-driven stories without good-or-evil labels
- Replay-focused players willing to return for more of a story after a 4–6 hour run
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who expect to see the full story in one run may hit a wall when a playthrough reveals about one-third of it
- Players seeking a linear narrative may find the branching structure and multiple endings difficult to follow
- Players looking primarily for action combat may find the focus on narrative choices and telekinetic interactions a mismatch
Our take on FREERIDE
The likely bounce point is the first ending: a run lasts 4–6 hours but reveals only about one-third of the full story. Players expecting one complete campaign may find the replay structure a stopping point rather than an invitation to see more.
What is FREERIDE?
FREERIDE is a branching narrative adventure set in a spirit world reached by a fate train.
Players meet spirits with unfinished business and choose whether to help them or leave them in despair. The story responds to subconscious personality, without labeling choices as good or evil; players live with the consequences of their actions, intended or not. Each act can be solved in four ways, and a first playthrough lasts 4–6 hours. One run reveals about one-third of the full story, so the vendor recommends playing again to experience more of the narrative. Telekinetic power lets players rearrange furniture and play basketball. The game also presents itself as a personality test, with no single good or bad way to play.
