StrategyIs Fort Meow worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle players who enjoy building structures under a time limit
- Adventure players interested in uncovering a family mystery between attacks
- Players who want to experiment with different furniture and cat behaviors
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want building without a countdown may hit a wall when each placed item consumes time before the next attack.
- Players who dislike adjusting plans after failed structures may find the physics-based collapses and increasingly challenging cat waves frustrating.
- Players looking for a cooperative multiplayer game may not find the solo story-focused setup they want.
Our take on Fort Meow
The likely sticking point is the build timer: every furniture choice uses part of the window before the next cat attack. Players who prefer to test layouts without time pressure may bounce off before reaching the later, more elaborate forts.
What is Fort Meow?
Fort Meow is a physics-based puzzle adventure in which Nia must defend herself from cats in her grandparents’ manor.
Players build forts from household furniture, layering objects to keep the cats out while avoiding structures that collapse under attack. Each object uses some of the limited time before the next wave, so choosing what to place affects how much can be built. More than twenty items can be found around the house and carried to the attic with a Move-It-Bot; each has a different property.
As additional time becomes available, forts can grow more elaborate, while the cat attacks become more challenging. Different cat types bring distinct challenges to work out. Between attacks, players read pages of Nia’s grandfather’s journal to follow clues about the cats and her missing grandparents.
