8 follows a small exploration probe stranded on an alien planet after being separated from its companions. Its mission is to locate and retrieve a missing energy source before time runs out. Exploration takes place across a large open world containing hidden areas, ancient mysteries, dangerous enemies, powerful bosses and cryptic lore. Progression comes from acquiring new power-ups that open further paths through the planet. The game presents its environments and characters with hand-drawn vector artwork and supports 60fps presentation. The setting includes traces of ancient civilisations and dystopian imagery, while the story focuses on uncovering what happened and determining what is really taking place.
