AdventureIs Forestry worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy dismantling environments and building with the resulting pieces
- Explorers who want to search wooded areas for concealed items and unusual landmarks
- Casual players interested in open-ended construction rather than a mission-driven campaign
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a clearly defined sequence of missions may find the open-ended activities lack direction.
- Those who want building with a fixed set of conventional parts may hit a wall when construction depends on breaking objects into pieces.
- Players looking for a gun-focused combat game may prefer a different kind of action.
Our take on Forestry
The likely sticking point is the construction loop: players must first break environmental objects into pieces, then assemble those pieces into something useful or expressive. Anyone expecting a conventional building menu or ready-made parts may lose momentum at that step.
What is Forestry?
Forestry is a first-person-style forest game centered on breaking apart objects and assembling their pieces into new creations.
Players chop trees, explore mysterious areas, uncover hidden items and obelisks, and discover slicing tools and special powers. The environment is destructible, and its pieces can be used to build structures such as cabins, monuments, or a campsite. The game also includes two original soundtracks. Its activities combine exploration with hands-on destruction and construction, using axes and other tools to reshape the surroundings.
