Our take on Fishing: Barents Sea
The focus on commercial fishing trades variety for operational detail. Quotas, equipment, crew, repairs, loans, and trip planning occupy the core experience, leaving less room for activities outside running the fishing business.
What is Fishing: Barents Sea?
Fishing: Barents Sea is a commercial fishing simulation set in an open world based on northern Norway.
Players begin with a small inherited boat, catch fish, earn money, and purchase upgrades or larger vessels. Different fishing methods and equipment support varied trips, while sonar, radar, and GPS help locate fishing zones. Fish move according to season and water temperature, and changing weather affects the environment. Yearly fishing quotas require planning for each run. Harbor activities include hiring crew, accepting missions, repairing and upgrading ships, arranging bank loans, and buying supplies or bait. The game includes seven playable ships, an inventory for knives, hooks, and binoculars, Scanmar catch-control equipment, and an officially licensed Hermes trawler.
