Our take on FIREWORK
The action and mystery premise receives most of the attention, while control hardware is a practical part of play: simultaneous key presses can trigger keyboard ghosting, making control configuration or a compatible gamepad relevant.
What is FIREWORK?
FIREWORK is an action platformer following Yan, described as “the Defective One,” as he battles Fire Troops and investigates a mystery inside a Facility.
Movement combines jumping, shooting, and midair dashes across platforming challenges. Players push back flames and soldiers while progressing through the burning complex. Hidden power-ups and special equipment provide additional items to find. The game presents a modern story written by David de La Rosa and developed by Ivan Zanotti, with influences named as Megaman and Cave Story. FIREWORK requires some simultaneous key presses, and the vendor warns that common keyboards may experience keyboard ghosting. Reconfiguring controls or using a compatible gamepad is advised.
How FIREWORK plays
- 01Air Dash Movement
- Yan can dash while airborne alongside jumping and shooting.
- 02Facility Exploration
- Progress takes place across platforming challenges inside a burning Facility.
- 03Hidden Equipment
- Exploration includes concealed power-ups and special equipment.
- 04Fire Troop Battles
- Combat involves extinguishing flames and fighting the soldiers stationed in the Facility.
- 05Gamepad Recommendation
- A compatible gamepad is advised because simultaneous key presses can cause keyboard ghosting on common keyboards.
FIREWORK compared to similar games
FIREWORK combines platforming, shooting, air dashes, and facility exploration, while SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER centers on running, dodging, jumping, and shooting. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, whereas FIREWORK presents a more specifically framed action-platforming journey through one Facility.
