Our take on Fear Equation
The bounce point arrives when passenger management becomes the central pressure: dream analysis, faction disputes, supply runs and defensive preparation all compete for attention. Players looking for a straightforward horror journey may hit the wall when the train’s social systems and resource decisions begin shaping survival.
What is Fear Equation?
Fear Equation is a turn-based strategy game with roguelike elements, set in a world covered by fog that gives form to people’s nightmares.
As the train’s engineer, players rescue survivors, examine their dream records and prepare defenses against the threats they may create. Supplies come from sending passengers into the fog to scavenge, while radio messages provide clues and equipment choices affect expeditions. Passengers divide into four belief-based factions, each with different fears, abilities and demands. The engineer can be customised with beneficial and harmful modifiers, while passengers can be created with adjustable personal details and imported photos. Train operations take place across a detailed 3D cabin containing controls, maps, computers and consoles.

- 03Faction Management
