Our take on Fatal Claw
Fatal Claw replaces a straightforward action-platforming structure with nonlinear exploration, survivor encounters, ability absorption, skill customization, and a choice-based ending. Its setting also places ancient ruins alongside technology revived in the underground kingdom.
What is Fatal Claw?
Fatal Claw is a 2D Metroidvania set in an underground realm of ancient ruins, survivors, infected creatures, sealed passages, and stones containing vital force.
Players control Kisha, a mysterious cat resurrected by ancestors, while seeking a key to the surface world and unraveling the truth behind the incidents in the kingdom. Nonlinear maps connect distinctive zones and allow unexpected exploration. Combat includes rushing, jumping, claw attacks, and strikes, alongside abilities absorbed from infected enemies. Engraved Skills can counter enemy abilities, while Cabitz stones add abilities or customize existing ones. Players can interact with survivors, complete the Fatal Claw weapon, choose what they value in the ending, and explore hand-drawn 2D environments with animated effects and varied soundscapes.
