Our take on Factory Town
Factory Town removes enemies and starvation from the usual settlement-building pressure. Its central tension comes from arranging transport networks, increasing output, and meeting village demand, replacing survival threats with a logistics-focused production puzzle.
What is Factory Town?
Construct an expansive factory over three-dimensional landscapes and route materials with belts, locomotives, gravity-fed chutes, pipes, airships, rail lines, sorting devices, and filters.
Turn raw supplies into meals, garments, equipment, books, and enchanted creations, then trade them with neighboring settlements to extend their territory, improve morale, and develop technology. Laborers carry products between facilities, while configurable logic handles distribution to workshops and marketplaces. Eight campaign stages offer separate goals; player-made and procedurally generated maps provide additional layouts. Creative and Sandbox options support unrestricted building. Landscape-editing tools alter the terrain, and Steam Workshop functions add custom rules and objects. With combat and hunger absent, the main task is arranging production and transport efficiently.
