We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Horror players who want first-person exploration in an isolated house
- Mystery-focused players who enjoy investigating surroundings to advance
- Players interested in supernatural stories with two possible endings
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want direct, clearly marked progression may stall when advancement requires thorough environmental research
- Players who prefer horror without hidden magical elements may find the vision and barrier systems unsuitable
- Players with photosensitive epilepsy may be unsuitable for the game's seizure warning
Our take on Exorcist
The bounce point is the investigation requirement: progression depends on thoroughly researching the surroundings, so players who overlook environmental details can become stuck. The photosensitive-epilepsy warning is an earlier concern for players affected by seizure triggers.
What is Exorcist?
Exorcist is a first-person psychological horror game set in a house in a forest far from the city.
Players follow David Livingstone, an exorcist who receives a letter from Margaret Carney after her daughter becomes possessed by a demon connected to a ouija board. Progress depends on examining the surroundings and researching them thoroughly. Exorcist Vision changes size to reveal magical elements that ordinary people cannot see. Run Stones remove magical barriers that block progress. The game has two possible endings, described as good and bad. Its dark atmosphere and horror content come with a warning that the game may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.
