Is Exodus worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Metroidvania fans who want extensive platforming exploration
- Players who enjoy combat paired with skill-tree progression
- Players interested in alien settings with multiple routes through a connected world
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players wanting a short, linear platformer may hit a wall when the game opens into more than 550 screens and connected hubs.
- Players who dislike losing progress on death may stop at the system that removes evolution points and requires their recovery.
- Players seeking a climbing-focused journey may find the platforming combat and skill progression outside their preferred structure.
Our take on Exodus
The bounce point is the death-and-recovery system: evolution points disappear when the character dies, then require a return trip before another death. Players who prefer permanent progress may hit that wall early.
What is Exodus?
Explore a hostile planet in a 2D platform-exploration game with metroidvania mechanics.
Choose Zoulux or LySax, then travel through connected hubs, platforming areas, mechanisms, monsters, and bosses. The world contains more than 550 screens, with a graphical map and teleportation between save points. Evolution points, called Vital energy, come from the environment or from killing monsters and unlock 15 skills with upgrades. These points are lost on death but can be recovered by reaching them before another death, while activated mechanisms remain changed. The game includes 4 save slots, 14 monsters, 4 bosses, 1 secret boss, 30 pages of background information, and 28 music tracks.

Exodus compared to similar games
Exodus combines platforming, combat, skill progression, and metroidvania exploration across a connected alien world, while Jusant centers on climbing tools, stamina management, and a meditative ascent with different routes. Jusant focuses on environmental climbing and uncovering a past civilization rather than monsters, bosses, and recoverable evolution points.
