We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- FPS players who want team matches with a strategic command layer
- RTS players who prefer controlling units while also entering frontline combat
- Groups seeking structured 5v5 multiplayer with distinct Commander and Officer roles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a solo campaign rather than competitive 5v5 team battles
- Players who prefer a single viewpoint instead of switching between frontline shooting and overhead strategy
- Players looking for matches without shared resources, base management, or technology progression
- Players who want a purely first-person shooter without AI units and strategic objectives
Our take on Eximius: Seize the Frontline
Rather than keeping shooting and strategy in separate modes, the game assigns both to one team structure. The Commander builds and directs from above while Officers fight on the ground, and the Commander can also enter frontline combat.
What is Eximius: Seize the Frontline?
Eximius combines first-person shooting with real-time strategy in competitive 5v5 matches set in a post-apocalyptic urban environment.
Each team has four Officers and one Commander. Officers lead infantry squads, capture resources, select weapons, and equip battlesuits. The Commander manages a shared base, trains AI infantry and vehicles, develops technology, and uses support abilities such as airstrikes and EMP strikes. The Commander can also switch to a top-down view or join frontline combat. Teams win by holding the most victory points or destroying the opposing headquarters, which cannot be rebuilt. Technology progression unlocks armored vehicles, gunships, elite soldiers, and additional team abilities.

- 06Multiple Victory Conditions
- A team can win by controlling the most victory points or by destroying the enemy headquarters.
Eximius: Seize the Frontline compared to similar games
Eximius combines first-person squad combat, shared base management, and a Commander role in 5v5 team battles. Anomaly: Warzone Earth also mixes action and strategy, but its description centers on a reversed tower-defense structure against an alien onslaught rather than player-led squads and a two-role team command system.
