Our take on Evidence of Life
The defining structure is a planet-by-planet collection loop: seven DNA types must be gathered from each world before moving on, while randomized planets become harder and the game does not end.
What is Evidence of Life?
Evidence of Life is a retro 2D side-scrolling action game set on randomly generated planets.
Players mine minerals, flora, caves, and gems while fighting alien inhabitants and collecting DNA samples. Each planet contains seven DNA types gathered from environmental and alien sources before travel to another world. Gems improve weapons, the mining tool, and explosive damage, while long-term DNA goals unlock six buffs, including a force field, health regeneration, and alien bullets. Weapons can gain rapid-fire and multi-shot abilities. Planets become progressively harder, with hundreds of possible planet types and more than 30 enemy types, including boss aliens. The game does not end and includes a cyber pup companion, atmospheric music, and alien creature sound effects.
