Is ELDORANTE worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RPG players who want repeatable dungeon runs with persistent equipment
- Turn-based combat fans who enjoy choosing between leveling and better boss rewards
- Players who prefer fantasy adventures with farming, cooking, companions, and item quests
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a continuously advancing character level may dislike the reset to level 1 after each Dungeon run.
- Players who prefer uninterrupted story progression may find repeated Dungeon delves and run-based progression limiting.
- Players looking for real-time combat will not find that combat format here.
- Players seeking a large open-world adventure may find the focus on Dungeon sections and Grimt sidequests too narrow.
Our take on ELDORANTE
The store page foregrounds the race for Eldorante and the Dungeon’s wealth, but the main structure is repeated runs with level resets. Progress depends on retained gear, skills, food, and companions rather than permanent level growth.
What is ELDORANTE?
ELDORANTE follows Makane, an arms merchant stranded on Grimt after a shipwreck.
To reach the fabled golden land, she enters the island’s Dungeon and competes with a foreign prince seeking its wealth. Dungeon sections use roguelite progression: turn-based battles can raise Makane’s level, while avoiding enemies preserves lower levels for better boss rewards. When Makane is defeated or defeats a section boss, leaving the Dungeon resets her level to 1, while equipment and other discoveries remain. Progression includes new gear, skills extracted into equippable gems, cooked meals, and recruited companions. Outside the Dungeon, Makane can grow crops for food and complete item requests from Grimt’s residents.
How ELDORANTE plays
- 01Turn-Based Battles
- Combat involves selecting companions and deciding how to use their skills against enemies.
- 02Persistent Dungeon Loot
- Equipment and other discoveries remain after a run ends, even though Makane’s level returns to 1.
- 03Level-Loot Tradeoff
- Fighting raises the current level, while staying weaker can produce better rewards from section bosses.
- 04Crops And Cooking
- Plants grow as in-game time passes, and their harvest can be prepared as food for combat advantages.
- 05Recruitable Partners
- Companions can be gathered to provide support during later Dungeon attempts.
- 06Resident Requests
- People in Grimt ask Makane to retrieve various items from the Dungeon.
