Our take on Ekstase
The store text emphasizes an immersive state of flow, but Flow is described in practical terms as a mode that adjusts difficulty according to play. The experience is also built around a specific loop: falling shapes break apart on landing, and matching colors are cleared by a scan line.
What is Ekstase?
Ekstase is a falling-block puzzle game set to techno music and visuals connected to Berlin’s techno scene.
Shapes made of 3 to 5 blocks descend from above and break apart when they land. A color-changing scan line clears squares formed from blocks of the same color. Flow mode adjusts difficulty in response to play, while Beat99 asks players to drop shapes in time with the music and preserve lives. Classic mode lets players choose the number of colors and shape speed; Time Attack sets a time limit for scoring. Two rotation styles change whether colors or shapes turn. Options include color palettes for different types of color blindness, custom button mapping, co-pilot controls, and adjustable background animations.
