Our take on Dust to Dusk
Rather than using chase scenes, sudden images, or game-over penalties as horror conventions, the game places its mystery in an office after hours and lets the story unfold through character switching and four possible endings.
What is Dust to Dusk?
Dust to Dusk is an occult mystery adventure set in a modern Japanese office.
The story follows Jun Tsukimiya, a chairman left alone at dusk after oversleeping at his desk, as he investigates a child ghost connected to rumors at Tsukimiya Corporation. Its Zapping system lets the story shift between several characters, revealing additional context and motivations. The game has four endings: three non-true conclusions and one true ending. Reaching the true ending does not require using Zapping, although changing viewpoints fills in parts of the story. Horror elements are presented without chase sequences, surprise images, or game overs, allowing the office investigation to unfold at an unhurried pace.
