Our take on Duskers
Duskers shifts exploration away from direct observation: the operator depends on drone cameras, remote audio, and motion sensors, then sends commands through a command-line interface. That indirect way of exploring sets it apart from games that present the world directly to the player.
What is Duskers?
Duskers is a space-survival game in which a lone operator sends drones into derelict ships to gather supplies and investigate what remains.
The operator sees through drone cameras and hears through remote microphones; motion sensors indicate that something is nearby without identifying it. Commands for drones and ship systems are entered through a command-line interface. Salvage can provide drones and upgrades for the drones and ship, while dangerous creatures, scarce weapons, and equipment failures complicate exploration. Fuel and parts for modifications also limit what the operator can do. Ships and the wider universe are procedurally generated, and death means losing everything. Ship logs provide fragments that can help piece together what happened to the universe.
