Is Dungeonmans worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike RPG players who want turn-based combat with lasting consequences between heroes
- Fantasy players who prefer mixing abilities instead of following fixed class restrictions
- Dungeon-crawling fans who want an evolving home base alongside wilderness exploration
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a straightforward campaign may dislike the roguelike structure and consequences surrounding fallen heroes
- Players who prefer a small, tightly repeated set of environments may find 12 battlefield styles and varied wilderness areas too broad
- Players looking for real-time combat may not fit a game built around turn-based battles
Our take on Dungeonmans
Rather than treating the hero as the sole source of progression, the game makes the academy part of the adventure. Each expedition contributes to a shared institution, so later characters inherit knowledge and advantages from earlier runs.
What is Dungeonmans?
Dungeonmans is a turn-based roguelike RPG set across dungeons and a broad wilderness containing swamps, crypts, bandit camps, towers, and other threats.
Heroes fight monsters using close combat, ranged attacks, steel, and magic, with more than 75 abilities and six class archetypes that can be mixed rather than enforcing fixed class restrictions. The game includes 12 dungeon and battlefield styles and more than 50 enemies. Fallen heroes affect future expeditions through the Dungeonmans Academy, a home base that grows as graduates return with loot and knowledge. The structure combines permanent consequences with new character runs, while skills and masteries provide different combat options.
