Our take on Dungeon Reels Tactics
The reel system makes each turn depend on a limited random selection of abilities. That unpredictability adds decision-making, but it gives up the direct control found in combat systems where skills can be chosen freely whenever they are available.
What is Dungeon Reels Tactics?
Dungeon Reels Tactics is a party-based RPG roguelike built around slot-machine combat.
Each recruit has a distinct reel that produces three random abilities at the start of every turn; matching three symbols activates that character’s jackpot ability. Runs use randomly generated maps with enemy encounters, fate cards, bonus objectives, and bosses. If a party member falls in battle, that character dies for the current adventure and must be replaced through recruitment. Recruitment options come from soul shards, fate-card outcomes, or shop tickets.
Each run offers a pool of 12 characters from a total roster of 24. Defeating three bosses changes the map, and completing at least three bonus objectives opens a final battle against the Great Evil. The game includes 30 enemies, six bosses, 100 fate cards, 40 relics, and 26 arenas.

Dungeon Reels Tactics compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines turn-based battles with roguelike progression, but it centers on positioning, attack tiles, combos, and deck construction rather than party recruitment and slot-machine ability selection. Dungeon Reels Tactics adds character replacement, map traversal, fate cards, relics, and multiple bosses to its run structure.
