Laura travels to a ski resort after the Sandman places her husband Tim in a coma.
She enters his subconscious to confront nightmares that are suppressing his will and threatening to make him the Sandman’s heir. The adventure includes more than 40 locations whose states change during the walkthrough, 12 mini-games, and more than 30 3D videos and cut-scenes. Players search for beholders through a hidden-object-style meta-game and collect diary pages revealing earlier events. Two modes are available: normal and advanced. The game also includes achievements and continues the story of the series.
