We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…

- Deckbuilding fans who enjoy choosing cards as a character grows
- RPG players who want to compare 13 distinct class play styles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed story campaign may bounce off the randomly generated run structure
- Players who dislike making deck choices may hit a wall when poor card selections weaken combat
- Players looking for sessions longer than 30 minutes may find the run format restrictive
Our take on Dream Quest
The bounce point arrives during deck construction: weak card additions can leave a character struggling in later fights. Players who prefer direct equipment upgrades or fixed ability lists may find the run’s card-selection system demanding.
What is Dream Quest?
Dream Quest is a roguelike deckbuilding RPG with card-based combat and randomly generated levels.
Players choose from 13 classes with different play styles, then build each character’s deck while gaining power. A thief might begin with Slice and Backstab cards before adding defensive or finishing moves. Runs move through varied settings, including crypts, underwater areas, and volcanic wastelands. The game includes more than 300 cards and over 70 monsters recorded in a Bestiary. Achievements earned during play affect later runs. A typical session lasts 30 minutes, while seeing most of the content takes about 50 hours. The game has no in-app purchases; all content is unlocked through play.
