Our take on Dream Cage
Players who rely on speaking or making noise during horror sequences will hit the main wall during the nightly encounters, where microphone input matters and silence is required to survive.
What is Dream Cage?
Dream Cage follows Robert, a 50-year-old man dealing with early Alzheimer’s, insomnia, medication dependence, and recurring sleep paralysis.
Across five nights, players investigate fragments of his past while facing a different demon each night. The game uses microphone input to capture sounds, and remaining silent is required during nightly encounters. Players search for more than 25 anomalies, deal with random hauntings, and find pills that restore Robert’s impaired functioning. Discovering every anomaly reveals the true ending; the game includes two possible endings, with only one exposing the full truth behind Robert’s nightmares.
How Dream Cage plays
- 01Five Nightly Encounters
- Each night presents a distinct entity during a sleep-paralysis episode.
- 02Microphone Detection
- The game uses microphone input to register sound during encounters.
- 03Anomaly Investigation
- More than 25 anomalies provide clues about the source of Robert’s experiences.
- 04Memory Management
- Finding pills restores functioning when memory lapses interfere with the investigation.
- 05Two Endings
- The complete set of anomalies leads to the ending that reveals the full truth.
