Our take on Drawn Story
The bounce point arrives when a puzzle requires inventing a useful object rather than selecting one from a fixed inventory. Players comfortable with experimentation can try alternate tools, while those looking for explicit instructions may stall at the drawing step.
What is Drawn Story?
Drawn Story combines puzzle solving with adventure in a world painted on paper.
The game switches between a stickman inside the scene and an artist viewing it from above. The stickman can walk, climb, jump, and use objects, while the artist creates tools and other items by drawing them. Players can draw objects such as saws, boats, oars, keys, and axes to address obstacles in different ways. Puzzles involve boarding ships, passing guards, exploring castles, rescuing princesses, and escaping giant eagle nests. Several solutions may be available for an obstacle, and only limited drawing ability is needed to create useful objects.
How Drawn Story plays
- 01Dual character control
- One role moves the stickman through the environment while the other adds objects from an overhead view.
- 02Drawn item creation
- Players can sketch tools and other objects, including boats, keys, saws, oars, and axes.
- 03Multiple puzzle solutions
- Obstacles can be handled through different combinations of drawn objects and character actions.
- 04Varied adventure settings
- The journey includes ships, guarded areas, castles, princess rescues, and giant eagle nests.
