Our take on DrainSim
DrainSim is defined by its pre-mission equipment choices: terrain, daylight, generator distance, and the number of drainage areas determine what goes into the field.
What is DrainSim?
DrainSim is a simulation about clearing submerged city streets and restoring water flow.
Each mission provides advance information for choosing equipment according to the time of day, terrain, and distance between a generator and electric tools. Floodlights are available for work after dark, while extra pumps and generators can support drainage in several areas at once. Diggable ground creates situations where a shovel is useful. The equipment selection includes rakes, submersible pumps, and other drainage tools. A day-night cycle and water physics shape the missions. Successful jobs grant recognition and unlock additional tools and upgrades. The game includes different levels, with each mission requiring an equipment plan suited to its conditions.
How DrainSim plays
- 01Mission Planning
- Advance mission information covers timing, terrain, and the placement of equipment before drainage begins.
- 02Generator Management
- Electric tools depend on generator placement, while additional generators can support work in multiple areas.
- 03Night Operations
- Floodlights can be brought along when a drainage job continues into the evening.
- 04Varied Equipment
- Available gear includes rakes, pumps, generators, and shovels for different site requirements.
- 05Water Physics
- The game models water movement while flooded streets and drainage areas are cleared.
