Our take on Doughbee
The build system creates variety through many perks and upgrades, but repeated runs remain tied to wave survival, escalating enemy pressure, and boss encounters. Players looking for a broader adventure structure trade that scope for focused arcade combat and run-based customization.
What is Doughbee?
Doughbee is a real-time wave-based roguelike bullet-hell game set on a strange world.
Players guide a hovercraft through more than 100 rounds of enemies and 10 boss encounters, using eight-direction movement, a chargeable shot, a dash, and three custom actions. Cash earned during runs buys upgrades for six hovercraft attributes, while perks can alter attacks, defenses, movement, structures, vehicles, and other abilities. Perks can be combined to form different builds. Between games, candy unlocks cosmetic options, starting perks, checkpoint starts, badges, music tracks, and lore pages. The game includes 36 or more enemy types, 50 or more perks, and local two-player co-op, with a second player controlling Calm.
