Our take on Don't Stare
The Adventure tag does not convey the game's specific focus: social avoidance is the central obstacle, while eye contact becomes a traversal tool. Platforming is paired with room decoration, clothing customization, animal-based energy recovery, and game-show-style confrontations.
What is Don't Stare?
Play as the Introvert in a narrative platformer about bringing a friendship group back together after a party goes wrong.
Move through a hand-drawn city by jumping, climbing, sliding, bouncing, and flipping while avoiding extroverts who want to talk. Eye contact can activate their abilities, creating a stealth-focused way to navigate each area. An optional parkour system offers faster routes with added danger. The journey includes locations such as a grocery store, gym, and house, along with game-show-style boss encounters built around difficult personal questions. Social energy drains during encounters; petting animals restores it and saves progress. Room decoration, character clothing and accessories, a soundtrack, and a story about five friends round out the game.
