Our take on Dogstar
Rather than relying on one continuous arcade run, Dogstar breaks play into short rescue-and-escape missions. It also lets players bypass opening stages and choose skill levels, while co-op adds shared lives and versus play offers a separate duel format.
What is Dogstar?
Dogstar is an arcade shooter built around 3-minute missions to destroy enemies, rescue a required number of comrades, survive, and escape through a stargate.
Players can stay to earn points or leave early to preserve lives. The campaign moves through Jupiter, Mars, Earth, and Venus, with rising difficulty, enemy hordes, and bosses; completing the Rookie mission unlocks a Veteran run with stronger enemy abilities. Regular and Brutal skill levels are available, and players can choose a later starting point instead of replaying the opening stages. The Multi-Orb pickup powers the main weapon, multiplies rewards, and can be used to craft powerups.
Other pickups include Rockstorm bombs and hidden bonuses. Two players can share lives in co-op or compete in deathmatches. The game also includes online scoreboards, 21 Steam achievements, and support for Xbox 360 controllers and keyboards.
How Dogstar plays

- 04Adjustable Starting Point

- 05Online High Scores
- Score submissions use OAuth2 authorization, and the game displays online leaderboards.
