Our take on Dogfight 1942
The game pairs WWII aircraft and battle settings with arcade flight action rather than presenting the subject as a conventional flight simulation. Its split-screen options also span competitive dogfights, cooperative survival, and campaign missions.
What is Dogfight 1942?
Dogfight 1942 is an arcade flight combat game set across the major theaters of World War II.
Players pilot more than 40 aircraft modeled on historical planes, including the P-38 Lightning, Spitfire, Messerschmitt 109, and Kate. Missions combine aerial combat with escort assignments and attacks on ground targets, while flight physics add aircraft handling to the arcade action. The game includes three split-screen modes for two players: Dogfight, a head-to-head contest; Survival, where players face waves of enemies together; and Campaign Co-op, which takes players through cooperative missions against the Axis Alliance. The combat missions represent actual WWII engagements, and the aircraft are based on authentic models.
