Our take on Digimon World: Next Order
Rather than centering on a single controllable fighter, this RPG sends two Digimon companions into AI battles while the player issues commands and cheers them on. Companion care and town development sit alongside exploration and combat, giving the structure a management component uncommon in a straightforward monster-battling format.
What is Digimon World: Next Order?
Digimon World: Next Order is a monster-collecting RPG set in a Digital World thrown into chaos by Machinedramon.
Choose a male or female protagonist, explore with two Digimon companions, and recruit Digimon to help rebuild the world. Care for the pair by feeding, training, disciplining, and Digivolving them; their bonds with the protagonist and with each other affect their chances in battle. Battles use AI: issue commands and cheer the companions as they fight together.
The game also includes Floatia, a town that can be expanded by recruiting Digimon, upgrading buildings, and growing crops. The stated collection includes over 200 Digimon. The purchase bonus lists two ultimate Digivolution items and a parameter boost set containing HP, MP, Strength, Stamina, Speed, and Wisdom chips.
