Our take on Destiny of the World
Its detailed war economy and simultaneous planning create a trade-off: decisions extend beyond battlefield moves into production, supply, research, trade, and convoy routing, making each turn broader but less focused on direct combat.
What is Destiny of the World?
This WWII grand strategy game covers campaigns from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945.
Each turn represents one week, with player and AI orders planned and resolved at the same time. Command Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, the USA, the USSR, France, China, or the full Axis or Allied command. Military operations include land, air, and naval warfare, while production, research, trade, diplomacy, and espionage shape the wider war effort. Supply and fuel move through depot and capital networks, with finite convoy capacity and sea interception risks. Scenarios include the 1939 Campaign, Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Barbarossa, and Operation Unthinkable. Hotseat and play-by-email modes support multiplayer on one computer or through email.
