Our take on Desktop Heroes
The desktop-companion format trades sustained active play for background progression. Much of the party's activity occurs while attention is elsewhere, leaving shorter windows for reward collection, equipment changes, and strategic decisions.
What is Desktop Heroes?
Desktop Heroes is an idle RPG positioned above the taskbar and played while other desktop work continues.
A party of four customizable heroes, including a Wizard, Warrior, Hunter, and Assassin, undertakes quests, defeats enemies, and collects treasure in real time. Progress can continue passively, with active breaks available for claiming rewards, improving equipment, and making tactical choices. The game includes additional regions, boss encounters, and secrets to discover. Its pixel-art presentation is intended to remain unobtrusive on the desktop. Protect Mode hides the game when the entire screen is shared during a meeting, while Virtual Mode allows interaction with areas behind the game without closing it.
