Is Demon Tides worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Platforming fans who want movement experimentation rather than a fixed route
- Explorers who enjoy searching environments for secrets and collectibles
- Speedrunners who want ghost competitions and customizable traversal
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly linear platformer may bounce off the open-ended movement and exploration structure.
- Those wanting a short, single-purpose campaign may find the collectibles, customization, ghost races, and extra modes too involved.
- Players looking for a combat-focused game may find traversal and discovery take priority.
- Players who dislike experimenting with movement combinations may hit a wall when adapting the move-set.
Our take on Demon Tides
The bounce point comes when movement customization becomes central to traversal. Players who prefer one clearly intended route may stall while testing talismans, combining movement options, and placing checkpoints after failed attempts.
What is Demon Tides?
Demon Tides is a platforming adventure across the open oceans of Ragnar’s Rock.
Players follow Beebz and her crew through dozens of locales, exploring distant structures, finding hidden areas, and uncovering the kingdom’s mysteries. Challenges and hidden chests provide talismans that modify movement abilities, including paragliders, hookshots, and bubbles. A mobile hub offers items, while outfits, headgear, and hair dyes change Beebz’s appearance. Players can place checkpoints, challenge other players’ speedrunning ghosts, and leave graffiti in shared worlds. New Game Plus and Randomizer modes change rewards, enemies, and weather. The narrative is intended to welcome players who have not played Demon Turf.
