Demon Club is set in ShenZhou, a world of demons, humans, gods, and surrounding islands inspired by Chinese mythology.
The player begins as a powerless demon and develops through magic study, friendships with demon kings, city conquest, and preparation for a war between gods and demons. More than a dozen magic types can be gained through apprenticeships, story events, or purchased books; repeated use increases their strength and changes their effects. ShenZhou uses a sandbox structure with freely developing plot lines, allowing power growth before taking on difficult quests. Defeated demon kings can be recruited to fight alongside the player. Territories provide different incomes, while money and food maintain the army. Victory comes from defeating every force in the game.
