Our take on Deer Man
Rather than centering an adventure on combat, puzzles, or a broad quest structure, Deer Man places the player inside a short memory-driven encounter. Object inspection and emotional discovery carry the progression, while wildlife protection and guilt provide the narrative focus.
What is Deer Man?
Deer Man is a short interactive story set during Jacob’s winter visit to his parents in America.
On his first morning run through the nearby woods, Jacob encounters Deer Man and becomes part of a story about guilt, sacrifice, and devotion to wildlife. Players take the role of Jacob’s memory as the narrative develops through exploration and emotional discovery. The experience includes finding objects and examining them to follow the story. Its wildlife inspiration includes Virunga National Park in Congo, where rangers protect gorillas and other animals from poachers. Oculus DK2 and CV1 are supported and tested. The game also includes a soundtrack by Mahesh Raghvan.
