Our take on DeadLock
The central constraint is that a processor keeps its acquired resources until it has everything it needs, so connection order can leave processors waiting on one another.
What is DeadLock?
DeadLock is a strategy puzzle game about scheduling processors and the resources they need.
Select a processor to see which resources it requires, then drag those resources to the desired connections. Each processor holds the resources it has acquired until it has all the resources it needs; a deadlock occurs when processors wait on resources held by one another. As the game progresses, more targets must be scheduled and new resource types appear. The challenge is to find an efficient connection order, and puzzles can have more than one valid answer. SpeedUp mode shows connections quickly, while Pause mode lets players stop the action to consider a choice. Space pauses or resumes, R restarts, and Esc opens the menu.
How DeadLock plays
- 01Multiple valid answers
- Puzzles can be solved through different connection orders, with efficiency shaping the challenge.
- 02SpeedUp mode
- This mode displays connections at a quicker pace.
- 03Pause mode
- Pausing provides time to consider a connection before continuing.
