Our take on Dark Rising
The game trades the narrower focus of tower placement for decisions about soldiers, settlement growth, and supplies. That broader structure adds management tasks involving population, food, and water, which can compete with attention to the castle’s immediate defenses.
What is Dark Rising?
Dark Rising combines tower defense with real-time strategy elements.
Players upgrade a castle, build towers, expand a village, and train soldiers to defend against waves of zombies, ghosts, spiders, lava golems, and other enemies. Defense can focus on outposts and towers or on an army of adventurers equipped with weapons and armor. Resource management involves balancing population, food, and water to train more soldiers. Adventure mode includes castle customization and 10 levels with increasing difficulty. An endless survival mode supports continued wave-based play. Steam Achievements and leaderboards are included. Steam Trading Cards are planned for after release.
