Our take on CUCCCHI
Instead of using art as a backdrop for a conventional game, CUCCCHI makes the artwork itself the setting and archive. Its progression combines maze exploration with collecting paintings, replacing a standard narrative structure with movement through an artist’s visual world.
What is CUCCCHI?
CUCCCHI is an exploration game presented as a playable archive of Enzo Cucchi’s artwork.
Players move through dioramas and maze-like environments based on the artist’s paintings, combining exploration with danger and surreal visual spaces. The game contains 7 areas and 10 levels, each drawing from different artworks. Across these environments, 78 hidden objects can be collected and protected from danger. Finding an object unlocks a related painting in an archive gallery, where the visual sources for the game are displayed. Three difficulty modes support either a more relaxed session or a tenser play style. The presentation uses multiple 3D techniques and includes an electronic, lo-fi soundtrack associated with Boards of Canada, Four Tet, and múm.

- 03Ten Art-Inspired Levels
- Each of the 10 levels draws visual inspiration from different Enzo Cucchi artworks.
- 04Three Difficulty Modes
- Players can select among 3 modes that support either relaxed exploration or higher tension.
- 05Lo-Fi Electronic Soundtrack
- The music draws on an electronic and lo-fi style associated with Boards of Canada, Four Tet, and múm.
