Our take on Creeping Dusk
The defining structure is its split between daytime settlement management and nighttime monster defense, with each phase preparing the next.
What is Creeping Dusk?
Creeping Dusk is a tower defense game with a day-and-night structure.
In daylight, expand a settlement around an abandoned gold mine, investigate the nearby area, and strengthen defenses before nightfall. Darkness brings attacks from groups of undead and other monsters, with later nights presenting greater challenges. Following each defensive battle, choose a reward that can provide construction blueprints, supplies, or bonuses. Exploring the fog around the mine may reveal advantages for future fights. The game also includes experience and upgrade points, which can be used to improve the town’s chances of surviving further attacks.
How Creeping Dusk plays
- 01Day-night planning
- Daytime activities include settlement expansion, area exploration, and defense preparation before attacks begin.
- 02Post-battle rewards
- Each survived night offers a choice involving building plans, supplies, or bonuses.
- 03Fog exploration
- Searching the obscured area near the mine can uncover benefits for later battles.
- 04Upgrade progression
- Experience and advancement points provide ways to improve survival prospects.
Creeping Dusk compared to similar games
Creeping Dusk combines settlement expansion, tower defense, and escalating monster attacks. Men of War: Assault Squad focuses on direct control of units in large-scale World War II battles, while Xenonauts centers on managing a military organization, deploying persistent squads, and recovering alien technology.
