Our take on Cook For Love
The cozy presentation foregrounds relaxation, but progression includes increasingly complex recipes, reputation points, chef experience, and a final critics’ evaluation. The cooking therefore has a defined advancement structure beyond the gentle visual and narrative framing.
What is Cook For Love?
Cook For Love follows Clement, a young Frenchman hired at a Parisian restaurant while his mentor, Jean-Luc Chatillone, is away aboard the Orient Express.
Using Jean-Luc’s recipe book, players prepare more than 40 dishes with different ingredients and kitchen appliances. Recipes vary in complexity, and cooking new dishes awards reputation points that increase Clement’s chef experience. Further recipes unlock as progression continues, leading to a final test in which critics decide whether Clement receives the Golden Spoon. The game also presents a story about Clement’s youth before he met Rose, offering another perspective on the characters connected to Tell Me Your Story. It uses bright, hand-drawn artwork and provides subtitles and interface text in English, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
