Our take on Conclave
Players may hit the wall during story decisions if they expect every option to be available immediately: choices are gated by skills, traits, and earlier decisions. Those seeking unrestricted equipment scavenging may also bounce off the renown-based gear system and its limited focus on useful items.
What is Conclave?
Conclave is an online RPG built around a campaign of 25 connected adventures, combining turn-based battles with story decisions.
A party can include up to four characters and can be played solo or cooperatively, either in real time or with players taking turns separately. Combat uses character abilities and battlemap properties, while story choices depend on skills, traits, and earlier decisions. These choices affect the story route, later encounters, and available resources. Five archetypes—Vanguard, Beacon, Rogue, True Bow, and Runecaster—and five setting-specific races provide character options. Renown grants equipment, while special items are found during adventures. The game can also be accessed through a browser.
