Our take on Combat Complex
The store emphasis on overpowered builds sits alongside a harsher progression split: collected loot is kept, but power-ups disappear after death. That distinction matters because character growth is persistent only in some parts of the run structure.
What is Combat Complex?
Combat Complex combines action-RPG combat with roguelike progression in a single-player setting.
Players fight alien bugs using WASD or twin-stick controls, collect random weapons such as railguns, pulse rifles, and flamethrowers, and move through procedurally generated levels. Loot becomes permanent once brought home, while temporary power-ups disappear after death. Combat includes redirecting enemy lasers and drawing foes into their own explosive devices. Hordes can overwhelm the player, making reflexes and quick decisions important. Stats and a skill tree support builds such as a durable tank, glass cannon, or space wizard. Multiplayer may be added later, but the current game is single-player only.
