Our take on CODE SHIFTER
The crossover format favors a broad cast and varied character transformations, but gives up a narrowly focused roster built around one franchise or combat style.
What is CODE SHIFTER?
CODE SHIFTER is a 2D side-scrolling action game set in the offices of Awesome Rainbow Corp, where mysterious bugs appear before a game release.
Programmer Stella creates a debug program that sends her avatar, Sera, into the game to investigate and fix the problem. Players explore stages while changing into characters from Arc System Works titles. The roster includes 30 playable characters and 70 support characters drawn from 25 titles. The presentation combines watercolor-style imagery with 8-bit pixel art. A comedic story follows Stella and coworkers Mozzie, Rudy, Hudson, and Greig between debugging events. The game also includes Colorful Fighters, a four-player brawl mode.
